As you can imagine, with the escalated situation continuing in the region, acquiring product from Palestinian artisans has become increasingly challenging as they struggle to find shipping routes out of the West Bank. However, we continue to work closely with our artisan friends in Palestine to ensure that their hard work and incredible craftsmanship is recognised in the global marketplace. The Keffiyeh is a symbol of Palestinian unity and solidarity. Woven in two layers using a traditional technique, it provides excellent protection against extreme temperatures. The distinctive woven checkered pattern is thought to symbolise fishing nets or ears of grain, an image of the bountiful and free land of Palestine, some even imagine the pattern to be hands joined in solidarity. Traditionally worn by Palestinian farmers and Bedouin tribes for protection against the harsh desert conditions in the Holy Land, these intricately beautiful scarves have now become a global fashion item.
