Bethlehem Carol Sheets

This year we are celebrating 70 years in print of the Bethlehem Carol Sheet and associated products.

1956 Edition

Bob Clothier of the BibleLands Mission Aid Society (renamed Embrace the Middle East in 2012) produced the first carol sheets for Christmas 1954. They were so popular that 100,000 copies were insufficient to meet the demand of schools, churches, British army bases at home and abroad and Royal Navy ships cross the world. The donations appeal towards the BibleLands projects in the carol sheet also raised hundreds of pounds. When 500,000 copies sold in 1955, Bob sensed God’s call to raise his expectations. So it was that, in 1956, with 1.5 million carol sheets sales as his target, an accompanying catalogue of Christmas cards and gifts and prayers for God’s favour, Bob launched our Christmas product range with overwhelming success.
