This privacy statement applies to Embrace the Middle East - a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales, and Embrace the Middle East Trading Ltd, which is also a registered company.
Embrace the Middle East and our trading subsidiary hold and process personal details in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
It is your right to request details of the information we hold about you. To receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you free of charge (known as a subject access request) please write to our Supporter Care Team at Embrace the Middle East, 24 London Road West, Amersham, Bucks, HP7 0EZ. We will respond within one month of receiving your letter.

How do we collect information?
We will collect personal information from you when you enquire about or take part in our activities. This might be when you email us, fill in a web form, buy things from our catalogue or online shop, sign petitions, make a donation to us or otherwise provide us with your personal information. This information may be received by post, face to face, over the phone, by SMS or online.
We also gather general information about the use of our website, using Google Analytics and other similar tools to monitor information such as which pages are visited most frequently. We only use anonymous information and statistics which do not identify individual visitors. This information helps us improve the services and information we offer on our digitally on our website, webshop and other platforms.
What personal information do we collect?

- your opinions about a product, service or an issue

How do we use your information?
We are committed to communicating with you as effectively and efficiently as possible. Our aim is to provide you with information about our work and to provide you with opportunities to support the work of our Christian partners as they seek to transform the lives of the most vulnerable in the Middle East.
We will use your personal information to provide you with the services, products or information you have requested, for administration purposes and to further our charitable aims, which may include for fundraising activities.
We may use your personal information to contact you about how you can support the work of Embrace the Middle East through prayer, campaigning, volunteering, awareness raising and through providing financial support. We may also send you information on how to engage your church congregation through prayer, campaigning and fundraising.
We will only contact you by email and SMS, if you have indicated that you are happy for us to do so.
We may send you postal communications and occasionally call you, unless you have indicated that you do not wish to receive post or phone calls from us.
We may also analyse and screen your personal information and create a profile of your interests and preferences. This allows us to ensure communications are relevant and timely, and provide an improved experience for our supporters. It also helps us understand the background of our supporters so that we can make appropriate requests to those who may be willing and able to give more than they already do, enabling us to raise funds more cost-effectively.
When building such a profile we may make use of additional information about you, including geo-demographic information and measures of affluence. This information is taken from publicly available sources, for example from public registers, such as listed Directorships, typical earnings in a geographical area, information from the electoral roll, press reports and social media posts. We may use third party suppliers to undertake these activities on our behalf and share your information with them to the extent required.
Will we share this information with others?
We will never sell or share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We may allow our staff, consultants and/or external providers acting on our behalf to access and use your information for the purposes for which you have provided it to us e.g. to deliver mailings, to analyse data and to process payments. We only provide them with the information they need to deliver the relevant service, and we make sure your information is treated with the same level of care as if we were handling it directly.
How long do we keep your data for?
We will keep your personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed, or is required for historical evidence or compliance with regulations.
If you request to receive no further contact from us, we will keep information about you on our suppression list in order to avoid sending you unwanted materials in the future.
